In my last episode, Gifting like a goddess, I may have been quick to dismiss the Beurer Cellulite ReleaZer as a gadget that didn’t make the cut for my gift-giving list. But, as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover—or in this case, a gadget by its first impressions.
Could this vibrating wonder wand actually be the secret weapon for smoother, firmer skin? Or is it just another gadget implying its effectiveness? Let’s take a closer look at what this little device claims to do and whether it’s worth a spot on your beauty shelf—or back in the box. Stay tuned, because you just might want to rethink that wishlist!
If you’ve been researching at-home cellulite-reducing tools and products, you’ve most likely seen this one pop up in your feed. The Beurer Cellulite Releazer is a handheld massage device that suggests it’s ability to reduce the appearance of cellulite through vibration and massage therapy. The reviews on Amazon are sitting at a respectable 3.9 out of 5, with 55% of users giving it a glowing 5-star rating. A 50% positive reviews felt solid enough for me to find out if it should be added to The Cellulite Site’s list of recommended products. So…. the real question is: will I recommend it to my beautiful friends and viewers? Let’s dive in and find out!
At first glance, the Beurer Cellulite ReleaZer (note the playful spelling of “ReleaZer”—alluding to a reduction in cellulite, right?) seems to promise big things for smoothing skin and tightening tissue.
With a name like that, one might naturally assume this device is a cellulite-busting powerhouse. But does the product listing on Amazon and Beurer’s own website deliver on that assumption?
BOOST CONFIDENCE: The CM99 claims to boost confidence by tightening deep tissue, helping you target those hard-to-reach areas diet and exercise often miss. With three massage programs, this tool promises to dig deeper for results that go beyond surface-level smoothing.
3 INTENSITY LEVELS: Customize the tool to suite your tolerance. The ReleaZer offers three intensity levels, giving you full control over how much vibration you wish to apply.
NONSLIP: It’s football season – and nobody likes a fumble, especially mid-routine. This device is equipped with nonslip grips and a soft-touch surface to ensure a secure and comfortable experience.
WATERPROOF: Want to massage during your shower? The ReleaZer is waterproof, allowing you to seamlessly integrate it into your daily routine without drying off.
SWITCHOFF: Forget to turn it off? No worries—the automatic switchoff function kicks in after 15 minutes, conserving battery life which you will need, as you’ll learn later in the video. Speaking of batteries, the CM99 runs up to an impressive 10 hours.
WE’RE HERE FOR YOU: Customer service can make or break a product experience, and Beurer seems to know that. Their friendly, Florida-based support team is ready to assist with any questions or concerns.
The Beurer Cellulite ReleaZer Compact While the features are undoubtedly underwhelming: Let’s evaluate the ReleaZer feature by feature to see if it truly delivers on its promises.
The claim: Tightening deep tissue and targeting hard-to-reach areas diet and exercise miss sounds appealing. However, there’s no mention of scientific backing or clinical studies to support these results.
My observation is that the device may feel relaxing and improve circulation, which could temporarily improve skin appearance. But for actual cellulite release? This claim might be more about marketing than measurable outcomes.
The claim: Customizable intensity levels let you adjust the pressure to your preference.
My thought: This is a practical feature. Customization means you can adapt the vibration to different personal comfort levels, which could add value for sensitive users.
The claim: Nonslip grips and a soft-touch surface ensure a secure, comfortable experience.
My judgement is that it is a thoughtful design addition, especially if you’re using it in the shower. Comfort and control and ease of use make it more likely you’ll stick with the routine.
The claim: The ability to use the device in the shower integrates it into your daily routine.
My opinion: A fantastic convenience factor! Shower use is practical for busy lifestyles, and combining this with warm water may even enhance circulation. However, if you live in CA, like me- we are always conserving water.
The claim: Automatically turns off after 15 minutes and boasts a 10-hour battery life.
My take: While not revolutionary, the automatic switch off prevents battery drain and overheating. A long battery life is a win, especially for a portable device.
The claim: U.S.-based customer service ensures assistance is accessible.
My stance: I’m not sure why you’d need to call customer service for this device – but it adds peace of mind, especially for troubleshooting or warranty-related concerns.
It’s lightweight, so holding it for the entire massage is easier than with other heavier devices. Which is good as you’ll learn in a minute how long you’re supposed to perform the massage.
There are nubs on one side are that are used for targeting deeper tissue, the top side is flat. It’s claimed to have 4 treatment surfaces, so I can only assume they are referring to the top flat side, the nubby side, a pointed edge – and the handles….??
The device is comfortable to hold, seems like it’s well made – and for a hand held massager, I like the handles on each end. I can get even distribution and more pressure using both arms and hands to control the massager. The handles are made with a comfortable molded rubber in a wavy pattern to help prevent slipping.
Here’s the kicker: Nowhere on the Beurer website or Amazon listing does the Cellulite ReleaZer explicitly claim to reduce cellulite. Surprising, right? With a name like “Cellulite ReleaZer,” it’s easy to assume this tool is a targeted solution for cellulite reduction. Yet, the product description carefully steers clear of making such clalims, focusing instead on circulation improvement, deep tissue massage, and enhanced skin smoothness.
Honestly, this feels…well, a bit misleading. The name seems crafted to capture the attention of those looking for a cellulite reduction tool, yet the actual features don’t align with that suggestion. While it’s fair to say the device might help temporarily improve the skin’s appearance through massage, it’s a stretch to suggest it will have any meaningful impact on cellulite itself.
Here’s where things get interesting: While the Beurer Cellulite ReleaZer doesn’t outright claim to reduce cellulite, it states to offer 2 massage programs with a sidenote of helping to tighten up deep tissue. The Cellulite ReleaZer uses vibration to increase microcirculation in the tissue.
Let’s compare their claim to one from a study from the National Library of Medicine. The abstract looked into how vibration therapy affects cellulite and blood flow in the skin. The results of the study were pretty promising.
Here’s what the study found:
Sounds exciting, right? Well, before we all jump on the vibration therapy bandwagon, it’s important to note a few things:
So, while the science behind vibration therapy is encouraging, it doesn’t necessarily mean the Beurer Cellulite ReleaZer will produce the same type of vibration or results. Think of it more as a tool that might give you a temporary boost in circulation and skin health which is not a guaranteed cellulite fix. Which, honestly – so does cupping and fascia blasting.
If you’re following the Beurer Cellulite ReleaZer instructions, here’s how you’re supposed to do the massage on the outside of the thigh (iliotibial band) in three treatment phases. But fair warning: the instructions get a bit tricky, so let’s try to clear it up for you.
Action: Using the nub side of the device, apply small, fast, circular movements with moderate pressure to the outside of the thigh.
36 minutes x 2 legs = 72 minutes (1 hour and 12 minutes) total.
So, to do the full treatment on both legs—front, back, and both sides of the thighs—you’re looking at over an hour of massaging! It is recommended to perform every other day.Is this realistic for at-home use? Do my friends have that kind of time to dedicate to using a device for an hour and twelve minutes? I suppose you can perform it in the evening if you’re relaxing in front of Netflix.
What’s your take on this? Does it seem like it’s worth the time investment, or does it just set the user up for confusion and disappointment?
So, If you’re looking for a device that offers relaxation, circulation improvement, and a well-designed user experience, the Beurer Cellulite ReleaZer Compact does check those boxes. However, if your goal is a significant, long-term reduction in cellulite, the lack of explicit scientific claims for cellulite reduction raises questions.
This device is more about incorporating a self-care routine than being a miracle solution. While it might not “release” cellulite in the way the name implies, it could still be a worthy tool for relaxation and temporary skin tingling.
For those looking to pamper themselves and experiment with an at-home massage devices—sure.
But if you’re chasing dramatic, dimple-free results, you might want to set your sights on treatments with proven clinical backing.
The name Cellulite Releazer might sound promising, but in my opinion, this tool falls short. For me, it doesn’t deliver the kind of results that justify the time, effort, or cost. While it may help with tissue tightness, I believe this device will never be effective in tackling cellulite.
There are several other, more affordable and user-friendly options on the market that are less time-consuming and more practical for busy lifestyles.
If you’re looking for a quick, effective solution to help smooth and tighten skin, you might want to check out my review of the tools and internal cleansing products that I incorporate into The Cellulite Circuit, which has proven results and is a much more practical choice for achieving smooth skin that you desire!
